Love Yourz

“No such thing as a life that’s better than yours. No such thing, no such thing.”

It is so easy to lose yourself in a society where social media is constantly telling us who we should strive to be while also reminding us that we are simply not there yet. Often times we let others set the precedent for our lives just so we can feel accepted in the world whether it’s on twitter, instagram, facebook or in real life. Understanding that likes and comments are just likes and comments can save you a world of trouble. Take these quotes from Love Yourz by J. Cole for example:

“It’s beauty in the struggle, ugliness in the success. Hear my words or listen to my signal of distress. I grew up in the city and sometimes we had less, compared to some friends down the block man we were blessed!”

Looking from the outside in you can easily become envious or sad when in reality you don’t know what is going on in other peoples lives. They could be dressed in the finest clothing while having low self esteem and a poor outlook on life. Dwelling on what you do and don’t have can hinder your growth as a person because you’re spending so much time on the bad in your life when there is so much good. I know that this will sound cliche but it needs to be said. Love yourself! – don’t let your followers, friends and family tell you that you aren’t enough.

“ ain’t ever gone be happy till you love yours”

Black Opal True Color Liquid Foundation Review

Seeing Black Opal cosmetics featured in videos made by some of my favorite YouTubers I just knew that I needed to try out their products. It just so happened that I left my foundation at school the weekend when I was going to see J. Cole in concert and I could not go without looking my best. I think that I might have ran over to the Black Opal display at my local CVS just to get my hands on their True Color liquid foundation in the shade Beautiful Bronze.

While on my two hour road trip to the Forest Hills Drive tour my makeup looked seemingly normal. Eventually I began to notice that my face looked super oily and had a orange look to it. Attempting to help with my issue I blotted my face with a bit of powder which didn’t seem to work for more then a few minutes.

Personally I would not recommend this foundation and I am so disappointed that this foundation wasn’t able to work for me on the several occasions that I chose to use it. This foundation was very orange and did not cooperate well with other products. Reading the foundations description on Black Opals website I can attest to the foundation being a light to medium coverage and very buildable. Hopefully Black Opal will change the formula for this foundation in the event that others will continue to purchase. Lets cross our fingers that their stick foundation will live up to the hype!
