My Life Changing Skin Care Product

I believe that we all come across one skin care product that changes our lives forever, and mine happens to be ORIGINS Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask to Rescue Problem Skin. After dealing with a horrible breakout (I’ll tell you about it soon), something had to change, and it did once I used this!

CaptureMy blog, and lifestyle, is all about living optimally without going broke. So my spending $27 dollars on a face mask is something serious.  This mask seriously changed my skin for the better and is great for a quick fix, spot treating acne, or a full face if you want. One of my favorite things about the mask is the cool tingly-feeling after applying it to your face. And of course the fact that this has helped me through some of my worst skin days.

I’m giving this a 10 across the board, five gold stars, and whatever other ratings are super high on a scale. If you think I’m exaggerating – you can check it out yourself. With most ratings above 4 stars according to the reviewers on Sephora, Ulta, Origins, and Influenster, I’d say it’s pretty legit! You can find my love here.

My Most Expensive Haul EVER: Fenty Beauty by Rihanna

Today is the day. The official launch day of Fenty Beauty by Rihanna!

If you’ve been following the coverage of Fenty Beauty then you’d know there has been so much speculation, and hype surrounding these items. It was SO secretive that the workers at Sephora were sworn not to share any information – can you say shook? With the gradual release of trailers, shade names, colors and prices you couldn’t help but fall into the fray.

After seeing swatches of each item I made a mental list of what I planned on purchasing. Did I get it? YES! But I also picked up a bit more then planned.

This is what I got:

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in the shade 440 | $34

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Instant Retouch Primer | $32

Killawatt Freestyle Highligther Duo in the shade Ginger Binge and Moscow Mule | $34

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in the shade Trophy Wife | $34

Gloss Bomb Universal Lip in Fenty Glow | $18

Match Stix shimmer skinstick in the shade Chili Mango | $25

Super short unboxing review:

Inside of the box, each item is protected by a muted pink cover to keep the product from moving around too much. Below are pictures of the highlighter and primer enclosed in the protective covering.

This is something that I really appreciate because you won’t have to worry about your highlighters breaking in the transition from place to place. Also, I love the unique shape of the product packaging. It’s very innovative. I can’t get enough of it!The Gloss Bomb smells amazing like vanilla and cherries, it’s simply delicious. The color is similar to some other lippies in my collection but what differentiates this from the others is the gold flecks of glitter.

If you have a small budget and aren’t sure what to get, you can miss out on the Gloss Bomb for something more exciting like one of the highlighters or Match Stix. Those are something that you can’t duplicate with another brand. Overall, each item was well thought out and was executed to a tee. There is nothing short of luxury with this brand.

*Several hours later at 11:40PM – my thoughts have changed on the Gloss Bomb! It looks so goodT on that I can’t help buy tell everyone to buy it ASAP

I will have a full review of each product coming soon!

If you have purchased what are your thoughts on the Fenty Beauty makeup line?

Utilize Your Resources for FREE Makeup!

Warning, this title is not sensationalized because you can get makeup for free without dumpster diving or whatever crazy methods that are showcased on YouTube. This method of receiving free products is called sampling. By sampling you are able to find your correct shade, which products you like and if you are willing to spend money on the full size item in the future. I believe every makeup counter gives samples of products (you just need to ask) and Sephora gives three per visit, so you are able to rack up on items you’ve been coveting without breaking the bank or making a purchase at the counter/store.

Sometime last week, my friend Raj and I went to the mall to look around and see if we could find something cute to wear for a huge party on-campus, which she did. While there we decided that we would go get a few samples of foundation and concealers that we were interested in trying from high-end companies like Lancome and Bobbi Brown. Eventually that turned into us shamelessly going to both Sephora’s in the mall for more samples of other products – like skin care and whatever else I could think of at the time. This left us with a nice amount of items to try to potentially purchase or to sample again. From this trip I ended with 10 samples which are listed below:

Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting foundation in Deep Bronze

Clinique Super Balanced foundation in 15 Golden

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish in Almond

Lancome Teint Idole foundation in 500 Suede W

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm

Facial Oil from Lancome not sure the name but who doesn’t love expensive products

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Primer in Caramel

Murad Essential -C Cleanser

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Smoothing Primer

Becca Skin Perfector in Rose Gold

I guess you could say that we had a pretty successful trip!
